Product information

What materials are your products made of?

Our suitcases contain Japanese-made 360-degree spinner wheels with low-noise functionality and reinforced attachments to the shell. It has a highly durable 8 mm double coil zipper. It has a built-in TSA-approved three-dial combination lock. The lining is flax linen, a more sustainable alternative to nylon & cotton. Lastly, but not least, the shell is a strong flax-based one that is both water and heat-resistant.

The bags are made from a bonded hemp material (a much more durable and sustainable material than cotton & nylon). They have a lining from natural linen made from flax fibers. The handles are made from high-quality, vegetable-tanned leather. They are all coated with bio-based and non-fluorinated stain and water repellent. See more information about materials on our Sustainability page.

Are your suitcases durable even though they aren't made of plastic or aluminum?

Yes, our suitcases are very durable. We have spent more than 2 years on perfecting this material and the suitcase design. During this period, we have done extensive testing to make sure that this revolutionary and yet organic material can match its fossil based big brother, the conventional plastic suitcase.

Our suitcase has been tested in more than 10 rigorous tests at a certified third-party test institute. Our test institute even conducted an insane throwing test with a fully packed suitcase.  All tests prove that we have developed an organic and environmental material that performs according to highest industry standards of traditional plastic suitcase.

Is your luggage waterproof?

Water-resistant, but not 100% waterproof! Canvas, lining and leather are naturally water-resistant and are treated with a renewable sourced, non-fluorinated, durable water repellent finish. We are proud to partner with Teflon EcoElite™, the world’s first plant-based textile repellent.

Overall, while we wouldn’t recommend taking them swimming, you’ll be
totally fine if you ever find yourself caught in the rain!

What leather do you use?

The trimmings are in natural cowhide leather, the skin is finished through a vegetal tanning process. Some natural marks or genuine irregularities in the leather may show through. Over time, this delicate leather, which is sensitive to scratches, will acquire a beautiful patina.

Due to vegetable tanning process, please note that dark leather contact with lighter materials may rub off.

Sustainability & Design

What is so special about your suitcases?
Compared to many other brands, we save approximately 2 kgs of plastic per suitcase. Furthermore, during the production of the products, there will be emitted some CO2. However, our carbon footprint is much smaller than many other brands.

We believe that luggage should not just be practical but also a beautifully designed accessory. Therefore, our suitcases are designed by Boris Berlin, an world-renowned industrial designer, and our bags are designed by Thomas Bentzen, a local Scandinavian industrial designer.
